Notes: Soldat is the name used to refer to the Wenger Soldier Knife. Having been the official issue to the Swiss Army since 1891 (Wenger first produced the Soldier Knife in 1903).

Soldier's knife was manufactured under contract for the Swiss Army, based on the military specifications for the. Which was the current military issue tool. The knife was first manufactured, and issued, in 1893 by an earlier company that would become Wenger. The knife was first manufactured by the Wenger company in 1908. This design was issued from 1908 through 1950.

In 1951 a new design was introduced with a reduced size of 98 mm and fiber or scales. In 1961, a new version with Alox (aluminum) scales in 93mm size was introduced and the 1951 design was officially retired, with Wenger producing the last models of the 1951 design in 1961. Is the only Swiss Army Knife that has the year of production stamped on the tang of the main blade.

Large blade is just under 3 of stainless steel in a clip point profile. Tang is stamped Wenger Delemont on one side and "39" on the other side.

Large Screw Driver (flat head). The knife is complete, used and in overall excellent condition. Edges look to be factory original. The tools are all in excellent working condition with minor to moderate wear including spots, blemishes and scratches. Tools show signs of use; main blade has a small scrape near top edge on one side.

The scales have moderate pocket/use wear with scuffs, scratches, nicks and scrapes. Tiny crack from bottom pin to edge on one scale.
