1960s Victorinox Champion Long File Bail Swiss Army Knife Vintage Rare

Up for your consideration is a vintage Victoria Victorinox Champion Swiss Army Knife with bail and long file. Collectors, this is one knife to get excited about! This knife is in excellent condition given its age and the fact that it was a user. Almost every tool has great snap and almost every tool opens and closes with ease. Lets dig a little deeper in to this gem of a knife. All of the tools are the older style. I would date this knife to the 1960s. I will describe each layer of the knife but please see the pictures for the best cosmetic description. The main blade and small blade both open and close easily with a strong snap. They have been sharpened but are free of dings or damage. The scissors have strong snap both ways. Open easily, the spring still works and they are sharp. The saw opens easily with strong snap both ways. Single cut, teeth all point to the back. The fish scaler opens and closes easily with strong snap both ways. No Ruler markings, meaning its the old style. The next layer is the file. Its a bit dirty but otherwise fine. Opened easily with one finger and has a strong snap when both opened and closed. File marking to to tip of the tool. The bottle opener has strong snap both ways and opens/closes easily.

It also has a sharpened inner edge. The can opener starts to open easily but there is some light resistance before it fully opens.

There is some snap but its dull. I would describe it as you feel it lock open but the snap is not audible as is with the other tools. The back layers and scales. The screwdriver is partially square and has a file on one side, opens/closes easily and has good snap both ways.

Same goes for the tapered awl. The long file opens/closes easily with good snap both ways. Its in good shape but it is dirty. It looks like there is some glue on it. Im sure it can be cleaned but I will leave that decision up to the new owner.

I forgot to take pictures of the toothpick and tweezers but they are in very good condition and function as they should. The bail has a bend in it as pictured. It moves freely without resistance. The scales have a little bit of paint on them but are free of cracks and fit snuggly to the knife.

If you look closely where the paint is by the shield, you can see a gouge in the scale. Its not that deep and is not noticeable without a close look.
