MODEL DESCRIPTION: The Victorinox Champion Long File Swiss Army knife was the top-of-the-line model in the 1960s and early 70s. It was eventually replaced by a slightly revised Champion with a magnifier and Phillips screwdriver, but no long file. TOOL NOTE: This is a 1960s knife, and almost every tool is different than today's Champion. The main blade has Victoria on the rear tang, and the small blade has a different clip-point profile. The scissors have a straight spring, adjustable screw and a squarer profile.

The metal file is scored to the very tip. The fish scaler is magnetized, with no ruler.

The bottle opener is sharpened on the inside edge, with no 90° stop. The can opener is marked Pat. The awl is solid, and the Phillips screwdriver is half-squared, with a nail file on the inside surface. There is a long nail file on the rear, and a bale/bail/shackle instead of a key ring. The tweezers have a metal head.

NAMING NOTE: The first Champion knives had either a Phillips screwdriver or a corkscrew on the rear, using the same model name. In the 1970s it branched into the Craftsman (with Phillips) and Champion (with corkscrew). Both then evolved into modern versions with slightly different tools. The Victorinox Vintage Champion Long File knife is 91mm (3½") long, about 26mm (1") wide, and 28.5mm (1.1) thick. It weighs about 143.4 grams 5.2 oz. And contains the following tools. Bottle Opener with Screwdriver Tip. Can Opener with Screwdriver Tip. Fish Scaler with Hook Remover (magnetic).
